In 2000, I traveled to Africa for the very first time. I felt as if I was living a dream! I wanted badly to capture the type of images I so frequently enjoyed in coffee table books and National Geographic magazines. What I brought home were snapshots. They evoked a memory, but did not convey the emotion that those truely remarkable experiences with the wildlife and birds of Africa inspired. I made it my mission to learn all I could about photography so that the next time I went to Africa, the images that I brought home would capture the feel of that magical place and all of its wonders. I have rekindled my earlier interest in photography, and continue to devour photography materials to better my craft. Driven by a life-long love of nature and its many wonders, I attempt to share its beauty in a unique way. I try hard to capture wildlife with an intimacy that allows the viewer to peer into the animalís soul and catch a glimpse of what it must feel like to be truly wild. My landscape portraits endeavor to convey the mood and substance of the area rather than just documenting the moment. I invite you, the viewer, to pause and contemplate for a moment what it would have been like to have been there. Lose yourself in the emotions that my images inspire.
